2. Overview

This site is static. It sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking services. There is no contact form; enquiries are made by email (see section 5). Fonts and scripts are served from this domain itself. The site is offered over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). The only external provider embedded is Vimeo, for the videos on the “Film” page; they are loaded only after you click “Play” (see section 4).

3. Hosting and server log files

The site is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. When the site is accessed, the web server processes technically necessary data (server log files): IP address, date and time, page or file requested, amount of data transferred, status code, referrer URL, and browser and operating system. The purpose is to deliver the site and to keep it stable and secure.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and error-free operation). Log data is stored only as long as necessary for this purpose and is not combined with other data. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with IONOS.

4. Videos from Vimeo

On the “Film” page, films can be played through the service Vimeo. The provider is Vimeo.com, Inc., 330 West 34th Street, 5th Floor, New York, NY 10001, USA. The videos are not permanently embedded: only when you click “Play” does your browser load the Vimeo player and connect to Vimeo’s servers. Before that, no data is sent to Vimeo. Until then, the page shows only a self-hosted still from the film.

When the player loads, Vimeo receives at least your IP address and information about your browser, device and the page you are on; Vimeo may use cookies or similar technologies. The player is called with the “Do Not Track” parameter (dnt=1), which is meant to limit collection for advertising and analytics purposes.

The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG, which you give by clicking “Play”. You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future, for example by email to ragunath@ragunath.net, and delete cookies in your browser. According to its own statements, Vimeo participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, so that an adequacy decision of the European Commission covers the transfer to the USA. 5. Contacting me and print enquiries

If you contact me by email (ragunath@ragunath.net) or phone (+49 176 23994314), including through the “Enquire about a print” buttons, I process your details (name, contact data, content of your enquiry, image and series) solely to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if the enquiry concerns a contract or its preparation (for example the purchase of a print), otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries). The “Write an email” and “Enquire about a print” buttons and the topic links merely open your own email program; no data is sent from this site through them, and “Copy address” only places the address on your clipboard. Your email address is used solely to get in touch with you and to answer your enquiry. The data is not passed on to third parties and is deleted once the enquiry is settled, unless statutory retention duties (for example after a sale) apply. Please note that emails may be transmitted unencrypted.

6. External links

This site links to Instagram, LinkedIn, Vimeo, ResearchGate and other sites. Data is only transmitted to those providers once you follow a link; their privacy policies then apply. Until then, no data is sent to them.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

• access the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
• rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
• erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
• restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
• data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)

A message to ragunath@ragunath.net is sufficient. You may withdraw any consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority is the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (HBDI), Gustav-Stresemann-Ring 1, 65189 Wiesbaden, Germany.

8. No automated decision-making

No automated decision-making or profiling takes place. You are not required to provide any data beyond what the technical access to the site involves.
