Breadth, light and landscape – panoramas of the USA

Analogue 6×17 panoramas of the USA, taken with a Linhof Technorama, show untouched landscapes as quiet, cinematic, poetic journeys through space, light and time.

About the series

Shot on medium-format film with a Linhof Technorama 617, these analogue panoramas unfold as horizontal journeys across the vastness of the American continent. From Monument Valley to gentle coastlines – each shot is a concentrated view through a classic panoramic camera, revealing space, light and structure in their purest form.

The images tell of the raw beauty of untouched landscapes, of earthy textures, quiet grandeur and the unspoken tension between sky and horizon. Each image holds a moment of stillness, a precise observation – far from motion, yet full of time.

The 6×17 format creates a deliberately slowed flow of images that guides the eye without forcing it. The analogue technique lends the photographs a particular depth and materiality – filmic, grainy, sensitive to light and shadow.

The series is not only a journey through geographical spaces but also through perception: a homage to seeing, to pausing, to marvelling. An attempt not merely to depict landscape but to make it felt – a visual experience between precision and poetry.
