Broken Glass
Fragile orders – the aesthetics of breaking
Cracks in glass form abstract patterns – the gaze is broken, the visible becomes newly perceptible.
About the series
Here, broken glass becomes the medium of a different way of seeing. The fine, chaotic crack structures form a complex web of lines, fragments and refractions of light that does not merely distort the view of the world behind but reinterprets it.
What looks like destruction at first glance turns out, on closer inspection, to be a poetic system of chance and structure. The fracture lines, now hairline-fine, now eruptive, create patterns that hover between transparency and opacity – fields of visual tension between order and chaos.
Through changes of perspective and the deliberate use of light, abstract compositions emerge in which the glass itself becomes landscape – full of depth, rhythm and movement. The motif is no longer merely the carrier of destruction but a starting point for new perception: a window that no longer lets anything through, but thinks.
The works invite us to see fragments not as remnants but as possibility – as pieces of a reality that only unfolds in the incomplete. What becomes visible is not what lies behind, but what lies in between. A glimpse into a fragile order that is at once open, vulnerable and of peculiar beauty.
