Photographs between sharpness and sensation

Reduced sharpness, maximum feeling: these images open up a quiet space in which perception matters more than precision.

About the series

Starting from the idea of depth of field, Fields of Depth plays with its radical inversion: here, depth arises not from technical precision but from deliberate blur, reduction and emotional density.

Shot with a converted analogue camera, the photographs show orchids not as botanical objects but as abstract forms of colour and light. Only a tiny point remains sharp – everything else dissolves into painterly compositions of light, form and surface.

In this deliberate dissolution, a new “field of depth” reveals itself – beyond the visible, beyond the documentary. The images invite you to pause, to look and to marvel: a visual experience that slows the gaze and sets the imagination in motion.

Exhibition
The exhibition took place at the gallery “Kunst in anderen Räumen”, Oppenheimer Landstraße 45, Frankfurt, from 27 June to 26 July 2025.
