Natur-Struktur
Landscapes in detail
Close-ups and telephoto shots of tree bark create visual spaces full of depth. Structures turn into abstract landscapes – a play between sharpness, surface and imagination.
About the series
Natur-Struktur is devoted to the quiet complexity of tree bark – a motif that, in close-up and telephoto range, appears not merely as a surface but as a living structure full of depth. Through deliberate use of depth of field, perspective and framing, fragments of bark become abstract pictorial spaces: folds, lines, fractures and textures reminiscent of landscapes – partly real, partly imaginary.
Made with both analogue and digital techniques, the photographs are not mere depictions but visual explorations. Through overlays and targeted focusing, structures emerge that move between documentation and abstraction.
The eye is challenged to read familiar forms anew – not as bark, but as visual terrain. A play between near and far, between material and meaning. The series invites you to dive into the hidden patterns of nature and to recognise the great in the small.
